Hilary Woods Night CRI (Vinyl)

On ‘Night CRI’ Hilary Woodsre-learns how to write songs that centre her voice, elevated by the skills she built up on her last couple of records, using textured dark ambience to subvert what might have been more simple folk-rock, dream pop or alt-country in different hands.

Written in Ireland, London and Latvia, Woods was inspired by European art films, early Irish music and Northern Soul dancing, and while those influences might sound like a sprawl, they make full sense as the album unfolds.
