Dam-Funk: Architecture II Vinyl 12″

The streets needed this follow up to Dam-Funks house-flavored Architecture 12, released last year on Canary Islands-based (its a Spanish territory off the coast of Morocco. Now you know!) Saft Musik. Dame puts his best foot forward with the sublime In The City in the A1 spot; all dreamy jacking house vibes sounding like some vintage LH but with that unmistakable DF bassline, its the best tune to come out of the Architecture series for sure. Best Weekend floats one of Dames signature earworm melodies over a 2-step gangster shuffle, Bounce wanders curiously into techno airspace with a sparse arrangement of dissonant pads, rude bassline and flanged snares, and Dont Give Up ends the joint on a characteristically uplifting note with the swing dialed all the way up. All four tracks are lush. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, as the elusivefirst Architecture 12 was just repressed, so get with both. Recommended.
