Greg Wilson: GW Electro Edits (Man Parrish, Egyptian Lover) EP

Now this is what I’m talkin’ bout. Rather than going the over-saturated disco edit route, DJ/edit pioneer Greg Wilson steps it up with a choice set of classic electro blends and edits. The EP kicks off with an expert blend of New Order’s “Confusion” beats topped with lyrics from Rockers Revenge’s “Walking On Sunshine” guaranteed to work the dancefloor over, while “Hip Hop Be Bop Rock” takes it deeper into classic electro territory with Man Parrish mashed with the Beat Boys. On the flip, GW splices up a couple hidden gems from the electro crate, starting with Extra T’s “E.T. Boogie” (that sounds like the inspiration for Busta’s “Put Your Hands…”) and finishing strong with Egyptian Lover’s freaky banger “My House On The Nile.” Originally released for Record Store Day 2013. Recommended.
