Madlib: City (feat. Freddie Gibbs, Karriem Riggins) 7″

Triple threat: Karriem Riggins, Madlib, & Freddie Gibbs. Taken from Adult Swim’s Singles series this pairing sees California’s Madlib with long time collaborator Freddie Gibbs and a very surprising verse from Detroit’s Karriem Riggins. Riggins and Gibbs go line for line over a menacing Madlib beat without skipping a beat. Hate to stereotype, but hearing Gibbs’ Southern accent over some boom bap ish is still refreshing. The flip is pure Madlib instrumental. Limited edition 45 with fold out artwork. Recommended.
