Mr. K: Funkanova (Danny Krivit) Vinyl 7″

Few DJs (if any) can claim the knowledge and experience of Danny Krivit. The NY DJ veteranis a living legend who’s seen and done it all! To celebrate the 45th(!) year of his extensive DJ career, Most Excellent Unlimited has pressed up a series of exclusiveedits on 45. Each one is a master class on how to properly edit a track for the dancefloor, and this one is no exception. Here Mr. K takes on Wood, Brass & Steel’s “Funkanova,” a jazzfunk masterpiece thatwas a classic at the Loft, and also sampled by numerous house acts through the years (Black Science Orchestra, Terrence Parker, the Bucketheads). This special 45 edit trims it down to just the most ecstatic moments to guarantee smiles all across the dancefloor. On the flip, Krivitlends his ear to Boobie Knight & The Univeral Lady’s “Sex,” a b-boy wet dream with tough breaks galore to get wild on the floor. Doubles recommended!
