It can be done but only Alex Smith can do it!If I’m being real, I wasn’t super hot on AOS‘s last album (The Best!, 2016) save for a few standout tracks, but this one’s got me all fucked up. You want the best – Farrakhan, French Kiss, $120,000 imports, ambiguous gang references, acid, blown out drums, live drums, liquor store clowning, parking lot pimping – its all here, with John FM fast becoming modern house musics premiere vocalist in the process (who saw this coming?). Omar-Sis flexing every muscle he’s been bulking up since starting FXHE 20 years ago, and there’s definitely a little bit ofsomething for everyone here, but may Isuggest “Second Life,” “Don’t Get In My Way,” “Oops,” “Coming Home Mum” and the title track. Spread out on four LPs with full color artwork, it’s a little pricey but the bangers-to-dollars ratio is highly economical. Recommended, andwatch out for the fog…
