Paris, 2015: In an unexpected move, Pp Bradock interrupts his busy schedule of releasing what could best be described as alien sex cult techno and cow orgy sounds to release two edits of his most well known record (Surprise!) that strangely dont sound any different from the original (The Surprise Is That There Is No Surprise!). 1999s Deep Burnt is a pretty well known tune for casual deep house punters and electronic music tourists, but if youve kept up with everything Pps released in the time since (or even the few years preceding it), its shocking he ever allowed something so beautiful and straightforward to slip through. Built (as far as I can tell) from just a handful of tactfully arranged samples, Deep Burnt demonstrates the massive heights you can achieve with very little kit and a lot of restraint. The full Burning EP is worth seeking out, but Deep Burnt is well worth the money spent picking up on its own, cut nice and loud here on Pps own Atavisme label. 2018 repress in full pic sleeve, highly recommended.
