Torres: Torres (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 2LP

“Honey, while you were ashing in your coffee / I was thinking about telling you / What you’ve done to me.” Released in 2013, here is Mackenzie Scott aka Torres’ stunning debut album. Recorded in Franklin, Tennessee with audio engineer Ryan McFadden, Torres is anchored by Mackenzie’s bare but sublime songwriting, and the 10 tracks deliver a powerful listening experience. The most memorable moments are backed merely by electric guitar as the now Brooklyn-based artist’s lyrical dexterity and raw vocals push a wide range of emotions/vulnerability across, check out “Moon & Back,” “Honey,” “Come to Terms,” and “Don’t Run Away, Emilie.”
