Vince Staples: Summertime ’06 (Segment 2) Vinyl LP

Vince Staples’ Summertime ’06, released in 2015 on Def Jam Recordings, is a double album that delves deep into the Long Beach rapper’s youth. Known for its gritty and atmospheric production, helmed by No I.D., with appearances from DJ Dahi, Clams Casino and more. The album blends West Coast gangsta rap with a modern, minimalist approach. Staples raw lyrics paint a vivid picture of his tumultuous upbringing amidst gang violence and personal strife. Recommended. Please note, this single LP release contains only the album’s second half, the first half is available here.
