I have no idea how or when this happened, but all of a sudden, everyone loves Japanese music. Granted, weve all been into Damo Suzuki for decades, but those Haruomi Hosono reissues blew out of here immediately, and Midori Takadais topping year-end lists.As this material gets its first official release in the western world, PPU has taken a different strategy, finding a contemporary act that embodies the same eager experimentation and studious execution. Wool In The Pool is the debut 12 EP from Wool & the Pants. Bottom Of Tokyo launches with an up-front bass groove, while Sekika is fried vocals and snappy breakbeats. Soredake is more of a sample collage, while Kudo is a swirl of reverberation. This EP comes packaged in a custom picture sleeve and is pressed on black vinyl.
